Eligible Northern Rivers households could receive up to $2,170 in Rous rebates
Help reduce the eligible cost of your rainwater system. Rous offers tank rebates of $200 for 2,000–4,499L, $800 for 4,500–8,999L or $1,000 for 9,000L and above. Additional eligible connections can attract $620 for all internal toilets and $550 for a washing machine.
The program covers eligible residential town-water properties in Ballina, Byron including Mullumbimby, Lismore excluding Nimbin, and Richmond Valley excluding Casino and land west of Coraki. It does not apply across the whole North Coast. Tanks must be installed, completed and paid for from 1 July 2023 to 30 June 2027. BASIX-required capacity/connections and prior rebates affect eligibility; plumbing certificates are required for internal connections.

Is water tank delivery free on the NSW North Coast?
Selected eligible tanks and qualifying addresses can receive free standard delivery under the 400 km by-road supplying-branch rule. Confirm your tank, exact address and safe access. Accessories and special lifting are separately quoted. Eligible Coffs Harbour tank orders have a specific business-confirmed delivery exception.
Can you install a complete rainwater system?
Yes, in the Northern Rivers. Ask for an obligation-free system quote for suitable tank supply, plumbing to the house, shed, garden or toilets, roofing and gutter work, pumps, filtration, pipework, bases or stands. The scope and price depend on your property and selected equipment.
Can you remove my old water tank?
For Northern Rivers properties, ask us to assess old-tank demolition or removal and replacement. A coordinated quote can cover removal, disposal, a suitable base, a new tank and reconnection. Send photos, tank material, dimensions and access details; lifting and disposal are separately assessed.
Are tank rebates available across the whole North Coast?
Rebates depend on your property and water-supply area. See the Rous eligibility section above and its official council link. The scheme does not cover the entire North Coast; check your address before purchase.
Which tank size and style should I choose?
Compare suitable metal and poly ranges, available colours, slimline, squat and round options. Match the actual capacity, footprint and inlet height to your roof area, intended water use and reserve needs. A 5,000L tank is different from the 22,730L product marketed as 5,000 gallons.
Can you help with a difficult-access tank position?
For suitable Northern Rivers sites, we can assess difficult-access placement and even crane tanks into place. Provide gate widths, slopes, overhead clearances and photos. Equipment, placement and site work require assessment and a separate quote.
Do you sell pumps and filtration outside the Northern Rivers?
Filtration products are sold Australia-wide. Confirm compatible pumps, first-flush devices, gauges and accessories with your selected tank, including freight. Water quality depends on the catchment, storage, maintenance and appropriate treatment; filtration alone does not guarantee safe drinking water. Full installation remains Northern Rivers only.
