Local Ballina specialists: complete rainwater harvesting solutions
Local service, from your roof to your tap or hose. Our Goonellabah-based Northern Rivers team supplies Ballina and surrounding areas with complete rainwater harvesting solutions. NRRTanks’ own plumbers, through associated Bruce Jobson Plumbing in Ballina, coordinate your tank, roof collection, base, pumps, filtration and full plumbing installation.
We build concrete or crusher-dust tank bases and provide roof repairs, roofing, gutters and gutter guards. Your quoted setup can also include first-flush devices, household plumbing, pipework, taps, hoses, tank stands and suitable driveway/access preparation.
Difficult-access sites are our speciality. For suitable Northern Rivers sites, we can reach hard-to-reach areas and even crane tanks into place. We assess the site and quote lifting equipment, placement and other work separately. For coastal properties, discuss exposure and suitable materials with our local team.

Ballina rainwater tank rebates: up to $1,000 + connection rebates
Rous County Council lists tank rebates of $200 for 2,000–4,499L, $800 for 4,500–8,999L and $1,000 for 9,000L or more. Additional eligible connections can attract $620 for all internal toilets and $550 for a washing machine.
The property must be an eligible residential town-water customer in the Rous supply area. Tanks must be installed, completed and paid for within the program period; the current council webpage lists 1 July 2023–30 June 2027. BASIX-required capacity/connections are excluded; prior rebates may affect eligibility. Confirm current application dates directly with Rous before committing, as older forms show an earlier closing date.
Read Rous County Council’s tank rebate eligibility and application instructions, provide the required documents and plumber’s Certificate of Compliance for internal connections. Check Ballina Shire Council’s tank installation and approval guidance for your site. Council determines eligibility.
Free delivery of rainwater tanks to Ballina
Selected eligible Clark tanks qualify for free standard delivery to Ballina addresses within 400 km by road of the applicable supplying branch. Confirm your tank, exact address, branch and safe loaded-truck access before ordering. The manufacturing branches are Dalby QLD, Bathurst NSW and Moama NSW; the branch supplying your chosen tank determines the delivery zone.
For Ballina, East Ballina, Lennox Head or another surrounding-area address, send us your postcode and access details. Check gate width, overhead services, turning space, unloading assistance and the prepared tank base. Installation, crane placement and special-access equipment are quoted separately.

Choose a rainwater tank for your Ballina property
For a narrow side passage, compare the footprint and delivery route of a 3,000L slimline tank or 5,000L slimline tank. For a larger yard or household storage, compare the 9,500L squat tank and 10,000L round tank. Larger properties may have room for the 22,730L round tank, sold as 5,000 gallons.
5,000 litres is not 5,000 gallons. The listed Dalby 5,000L slimline measures approximately 2,990 mm long × 1,080 mm wide × 2,120 mm high and carries a 10-year manufacturer’s warranty. The Dalby 22,730L round tank is approximately 3,530 mm in diameter × 2,780 mm high, with a 2,460 mm inlet height and a 25-year manufacturer’s warranty. Warranty conditions apply. Dimensions differ between branches: confirm the actual supplied model, base requirements and fitting clearances before ordering.
Open each product for current prices, colours, outlet options and availability. Our team can also help with metal tank configurations. Match capacity to roof area, intended use and dry-period reserve rather than choosing on size alone.
Ballina rainfall and practical tank sizing
The Bureau of Meteorology’s Ballina Airport AWS, station 058198, lists mean annual rainfall of 1,855.6 mm, based on 25 available years within 1992–2026. This is a long-term station reference, not a forecast for your property. Rainfall varies between seasons and years, so a wet annual average does not remove the need to plan for dry spells.
Each 1 mm of rain on 100 m² of connected roof represents 100 litres before losses. First flush, filters, overflow and available tank space reduce usable collection. Use the full Tank Chooser above with your roof area, water use and location, then discuss your storage reserve, overflow and base with our team. For low-lying sites, ask about suitable tank anchoring and overflow arrangements during the site assessment.
Pumps, filtration and rainwater accessories
Complete your Ballina system with suitable pumps, first-flush devices, inlet and overflow screens, filters and fittings. Keep gutters, screens and the tank maintained, and choose treatment for the intended use of the water.
We sell filtration systems Australia-wide and offer complete system design and installation in the Northern Rivers. Drinking-water suitability depends on catchment quality, storage, maintenance and appropriate treatment; filtration alone does not guarantee safe drinking water.
Shop filtration, pumps and rainwater accessories or ask us to include them in your Ballina installation quote. For larger properties, also browse our farm products and accessories.
