Free delivery of rainwater tanks to Sydney
Selected eligible tanks qualify for free standard delivery to Sydney from the Bathurst branch. The offer applies within 400 km by road of the applicable supplying branch. Confirm your tank model, exact address and safe loaded-truck access with NRRTanks before ordering.
For narrow driveways, steep access, gates or overhead obstructions, discuss the delivery route and unloading space first. Check the selected tank’s onsite-assistance requirements. Review delivery and site preparation or call 02 6624 4662 to confirm your address.
Choose a tank for Sydney
For a narrow side passage, compare the tank footprint and access before choosing a slimline. For larger garden or household storage, compare round poly and metal options against your roof area and water use.
The 5,000L slimline from Bathurst is approximately 3,250 mm long × 1,050 mm wide × 1,960 mm high, with a listed 10-year manufacturer’s warranty. The separate 22,730L round tank, sold as 5,000 gallons, is approximately 3,475 mm in diameter × 2,800 mm high, with a 2,500 mm inlet height and a listed 25-year manufacturer’s warranty. Warranty conditions apply; confirm the supplying branch’s specification and fitting clearances.
5,000 litres is not 5,000 gallons. Follow the product links for current prices, available variants and colours; outlet fittings can change the price. Compare other poly tank capacities or ask our Goonellabah-based team about metal tank configurations. Product information reviewed 30 October 2026.
Sydney rainfall
The Bureau of Meteorology’s Sydney Observatory Hill station 066062 lists mean annual rainfall of 1,213.4 mm, based on 159 available years within 1858–2020. The station closed in August 2020. This long-term central-city reference is not a suburb-specific forecast; rainfall varies across Greater Sydney and between years.
Each 1 mm of rain on 100 m² of connected roof represents 100 litres before losses. Actual yield also depends on filters, first flush, overflow and available storage. Use the full Tank Chooser above with your location, roof area and water needs; annual rainfall alone cannot determine tank size. Source reviewed 30 October 2026.
Council rules and rebates
Eligible Inner West properties may receive up to $2,000 under Council’s standard rainwater-tank rebate, or up to $3,000 for eligible low-income applicants. The amount depends on capacity and connected uses; it is not an automatic payment for every tank.
Check Inner West Council’s current rebate rates, eligibility and application steps. Conditions include at least 2,000 litres of combined capacity, a compulsory workshop, eligible rateable property and keeping the tank connected for five years. Tanks required by development consent, including BASIX, are excluded. Household plumbing connections require a licensed plumber and supporting evidence.
Read the terms, attend the workshop, install to requirements, then submit the application and required documents for Council review/inspection. This is an Inner West Council scheme, not a Sydney-wide rebate. Other Sydney and surrounding-area properties must check their own council’s current incentives and approval requirements before purchasing. Reviewed 30 October 2026.
Filtration and accessories
NRRTanks sells filtration systems Australia-wide, along with pumps, first-flush devices, screens and other rainwater tank accessories. Ask about filtration options for your intended water use. Drinking-water suitability depends on catchment quality, system condition, maintenance and appropriate treatment; filtration alone does not guarantee safe drinking water.
Shop water tanks and check delivery
For Sydney and surrounding-area enquiries, send your postcode, preferred capacity, available dimensions and delivery-access details. Confirm eligibility for your exact address rather than assuming the same delivery terms apply throughout Greater Sydney.
Shop poly water tanks, shop filtration and accessories, or request an obligation-free tank supply quote. Call 02 6624 4662 for product and delivery advice. Tank supply and eligible delivery are available; arrange installation with your local plumber.
Common questions about water tanks in Sydney
Is delivery free across Sydney?
Selected eligible tanks qualify for free standard delivery to qualifying Sydney addresses within 400 km by road of the applicable branch. Confirm the selected tank, supplying branch, exact address and safe truck access before ordering.
Which rainwater tank rebate applies to my Sydney address?
Check your property’s council. Inner West Council publishes a tank rebate for eligible local properties, with workshop and installation conditions. Follow the council link above for current rates and application requirements; it is not a Sydney-wide offer.
Can rainwater be used for drinking?
NSW Health recommends using public mains water for drinking and cooking in urban areas. Rainwater may be suitable with an appropriate, well-maintained catchment and treatment system. NRRTanks sells filtration systems Australia-wide; browse filtration and accessories or ask about your intended use. Filtration alone does not guarantee safe drinking water.
